Vad bra för då ska du lyssna Sam ”Sorley the Bard” Shackletons andra album Scottish Cowboy Ballads & Early American Folk Songs. 16 traditionella cowboy-ballader och tidiga amerikanska folksånger med Shackletons egna skotska twist.

Shackleton har gjort sig känd som gatumusiker i sin hemstad Edinburgh. Hans musik är inspirerad av musik och traditioner från Skottland, Irland och USA men är även influerad av 1960-talets folkmusikrörelse. Han sjunger och spelar clawhammer banjo, gitarr och munspel, musiken är en mix av country, bluegrass, traditionell folkmusik och blues med en skotsk själ.

Shackleton är inte bara en begåvad musiker, han har även en examen i etnologi med inriktning i folklore och etnomusikologi från School of Scottish Studies vid University of Edinburgh.

"There were many hurdles in the making of this album, not excluding my own struggles with grief, depression, and the resulting lack of motivation. In the end, working on this album saved me and gave me a purpose at a time when I was at my lowest, and I’m so pleased you will all soon be able to hear it!
